Joint Commission Highlights Home Care In 'Speak Up'

The Joint Commission’s latest installment in its Speak Up video series addresses home care. "Video characters Nurse Clare, Home Care Aide Jesse and Home Medical Equipment Spe-cialist Boyd help Hector in his home with his IV, oxygen tank and daily living needs while his wife Reyna watches and helps," explains the Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.-based accrediting body formerly known as JCAHO.
The "Speak Up: At Home" video advises home care recipients and their families to check worker badges and request help in verifying the correct usage of medications, among other items. The video, available in English and Spanish, is at www.jointcommission.org/multimedia/speak_up_home_english.
