Industry Eyes Committee Members In Charge Of Budget Cuts

The home care industry appears to have a few supporters on the so-called super committee created by the recent debt ceiling legislation. The committee will be responsible for reducing the federal deficit levels. On the Democratic side, committee members Sens. Patty Murray (Wash.) and John Kerry (Mass.) "fought to reduce the size of the home health payment cuts in the Affordable Care Act and have opposed home health copays," points out the National Association for Home Care & Hospice. And "Kerry sponsored a resolution that passed 97 to 0 that health care reform legislation should not reduce home health benefits."
