Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center in Safford, Ariz., is shuttering its home health agency, reports the Eastern Arizona Courier. Sierra Vista-based Legacy Home Health Care of Southern Arizona is taking over the business, Mt. Graham says. The hospital will continue to offer hospice services, however.
“As the use of home health services has grown nationwide, both Medicare and private insurers have consistently cut reimbursement to home health agencies while at the same time systematically implementing more and more complex regulations each year,” the hospital says. “MGRMC has found it impossible within a traditional hospital setting to respond to these changes without suffering a significant financial loss.”
