Hospital Launches Own Home Health Agency

You might want to improve your response time to referrals, or face increased competition. Case in point: Valley View Medical Cen-ter in Fort Mohave, Ariz., has opened a home health agency, reports the Mohave Valley Daily News. The agency operates in a 30-mile radius of the hospital, with plans to extend operations to Laughlin and Needles once it receives the proper state licenses, the agency's Dawn Shockome told the newspaper. "The hospital felt that the local home health needs were not being handled in a timely manner," Shockome said. "Our (turnaround) rule here is 48 hours, but our goal is within 24 hours."
