The government has filed its claim in the high-profile bankruptcy case of San Diego Hospice. CMS says the hospice owes $112 million in overpayments, although it doesn’t explain how it arrived at that figure, reports the Union Tribune newspaper. Other creditors’ claims in the case reach only $23 million. Creditors are still negotiating the terms of settlement, the newspaper says.
San Diego Hospice filed bankruptcy in February after a Medicare audit was revealed late last year.
