Home Health Copay Threat Still Looms

Keep an eye peeled for developments in Washington regarding the so-called "doc fix." Industry members are on guard against Congress using home health agency and even hospice Medicare payment cuts to pay for eliminating the 27 percent cut slated to hit physician Medicare payments Jan. 1. At press time, the House and Senate still were wrangling over details of a large bill that contained the doc fix as just one component. The fix will cost $22 billion for one year and $38 billion for two years, according to press reports.
