Home Care Employee Gets Prison Time For Medicaid Fraud

A Minneapolis man was sentenced to 18 months in prison for defrauding Medicaid of more than $500,000 over a three-year period. Allwell Tam Inimgba was responsible for billing services to Medicaid for Victory Home Care, Inc., and he allegedly filed false claims for services provided by RNs, reports the Minnesota U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Inimgba pled guilty to one count of health care fraud for the scheme, which he admitted occurred from January 2006 to March 2009. His sentencing, which occurred on Jan. 23, 2013, was part of plea agreement. Inimgba purportedly billed Medicaid for more than $1.4 million worth of services provided to home care clients by RNs, when actually only $513,734 of those reimbursements were for legitimate claims.
