Appeals are the least-approved RHHI service. The highest-scoring regional home health intermediary for customer satisfaction this year is now history. According to the annual Medicare Contractor Provider Satisfaction Survey, former RHHI Cahaba GBA was tops among the 16,000 responses Mathematica Policy Research received. Cahaba received a 4.15 overall satisfaction score on a scale of 1 to 5, compared to Palmetto GBA's 3.87 and National Government Services' 3.83. Cahaba, which was replaced by HHH Medicare Administrative Contractor CGS this summer, also had the top score for business function satisfaction -- 3.90 versus Palmetto's 3.72 and NGS's 3.70. Cahaba and Palmetto's scores were down slightly from last year's survey, 3.7 and 4 percent, respectively. NGS's score was up 1.3 percent. Home health agencies and hospices scored the highest among provider types for contractor satisfaction. Both categories scored about 81 percent.The provider type with the lowest satisfaction score were non-physician providers served by Part B carriers (68.5 percent). HHAs and hospices were most satisfied with RHHIs' provider education and outreach (76.1 percent) and least satisfied with their appeals (59.7 percent).
