HHA Owner Sentenced For Home Care Fraud In St. Louis

HHA owner Rose Ray-Vasser is facing 30 months in prison and $398,000 in restitution for defrauding Medicaid, reports the St. Louis Business Journal. Ray-Vasser owned and operated Blessed Hands Home Health Services Inc. based in St. Louis, MO. Both Ray-Vasser and Blessed Hands pleaded guilty to felony health care fraud for paying patients to use their names in billing Medicaid for non-rendered services. The court also ordered Blessed Hands to pay the same amount in restitution and sentenced the HHA to three years of probation. Ray-Vasser allegedly submitted the false claims to Medicaid from 2006 until June 2011.
