HHA Owner Indicted For $15 Million Fraud Scheme

A Miami home health agency owner has been indicted on Medicare fraud charges, the Department of Justice says. Yunesky I. Fornaris and his co-conspirators hid their ownership of Elite Home Care and participated in a $15 million scheme in which they paid beneficiaries and patient recruiters kickbacks for referrals, the indictment alleges. From April 2010 to July 2016, Fornaris submitted false claims for services that weren’t provided nor medically necessary, according to the DOJ.
