HHA Office Worker Pleads Guilty In Detroit

A home health office worker has pled guilty to Medicare fraud in the $24 million Detroit scheme that already has produced numerous other guilty pleas.

Dana Sharma agreed to submit false claims at First Choice Home Health Care Services Inc. and Reliance Home Care, the Department of Justice says in a release. Sharma organized and maintained company patient files, knowing that these files contained falsified patient visit notes that created the false impression that home health care had been provided to patients, court documents say. Sharma will face sentencing in August.
