HHA Closes After Losing Medicare, Medicaid Payment

ABC Homecare LLC closed after losing its Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, following an unfavorable survey that the Indiana State Department of Health conducted back in May. The Department cited the Carmel-based in-home health care agency for 14 deficiencies at that time, according to a Dec. 3 report in the Indianapolis Business Journal. After several more visits in July and August, the Department decided that ABC was still not documenting that its programs were effective, efficient and appropriate. CMS cut off ABC’s Medicare reimbursement in September, and Indiana Medicaid followed suit in November.
