Industry Note:

HH Buyer Backs Out

Island Hospital in Anacortes, Washington has sold its Island Hospital Home Health unit to Glacier Peak Healthcare Inc., reports the Anacortes American.

The acquisition didn’t quite run smooth, however. Island Hospital was set to sell to Utahbased Canyon Home Care & Hospice, until Canyon withdrew its $1.45 million offer a week before the sale, reports the American. Then Glacier Peak, owned by Cornerstone Healthcare which in turn is owned by The Ensign Group, stepped in and clinched the sale for a much reduced $650,000, says the newspaper.
