Does requiring prior authorization for Medicare home care services seem like a bad idea? Now’s the time to speak up.

The comment period for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ prior authorization pilot demonstration closes April 5. Under the demo, CMS would require prior auth in seven pilot states. CMS would base its program on the Power Mobility Device prior auth program, it said in a notice for the demo published in the Feb. 5 Federal Register (see Eli’s HCW, Vol. XXV, No. 7).
