Former Amedisys CEO Perishes In Flooding

The severe flooding in Southern Louisiana has taken a steep toll on home care providers and their patients — including the death of one of the “Big Four’s” CEO.

Former Amedisys Inc. CEO William Borne has been confirmed as one of the flooding victims in Baton Rouge, reports The Advocate newspaper. “Everything he did, he did with energy and passion,” current Amedisys CEO Paul Kusserow said. “Bill’s vision made Amedisys what it is today, and a countless number of employees and patients have gained from him. He leaves behind a wonderful legacy, one we will work every day to uphold, continue, and make thrive,” Kusserow said, according to the newspaper.

Borne founded Amedisys in 1982, and stepped down in 2014 after the congressional in- quiry into therapy overutilization in home care among publicly traded companies.
