Feds Tout 19th Guilty Plea In FL HHA Fraud Bust

The feds have racked up another guilty plea in the fraud bust of ABC Home Health Care Inc. and Florida Home Health Care Providers Inc. in Miami. RN Jorge Pineiro pled guilty to falsifying patient files for Medicare beneficiaries to make it appear that they qualified for home health care and therapy services, the Department of Justice says in a release. Pineiro also admitted to being a patient recruiter in return for kickbacks and bribes. Eighteen co-defendants have already pled guilty in the fraud ring, the DOJ notes. Another two await trial next month. Pineiro will face sentencing in April.
