Industry Note:

Feds Continue Crack-Down On Medicaid Home Care Fraud

Medicaid fraud continues to be on the fraud enforcement radar. In Pittsburgh, federal and state investigators led by the FBI raided personal care services firm Moriarty Consultants last month, reports WPXI News. Moriarty Consultants, owned by Arlinda Moriarty, launched in 2000 and is now a $30 million-a-year business, with more than 700 employees in five states, the news station says.

And federal prosecutors have charged six St. Louis-area home health workers with falsifying Medicaid time sheets, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. The workers reported visits when they were actually on vacation, on a cruise, gambling at a casino, working another job, and out of state, the newspaper says.
