Expect To Serve More Managed Care Patients

Don't be surprised to see more Medicare Advantage managed care patients on your rolls in the coming year. MA plan premiums will be 4 percent lower in 2012 than in 2011, and plans project enrollment to increase by 10 percent, the Department for Health and Human Services says in a release. Open enrollment for the plans is starting earlier than usual, Oct. 15, HHS notes. The deadline to enroll is also earlier, Dec. 7 rather than Dec. 31. "Medicare open enrollment is coming early this year," CMS Administrator Donald Berwick points out in the release.
