An HHA owner in Ohio has pled guilty to Medicare fraud. Divyesh "David" C. Patel, owner of Alpine Nursing Care Inc. in North Randall, admitted to knowing that office manager Belita Mable Bush submitted false billings or falsified documents for services that were never rendered, or that were provided by aides with criminal convictions that excluded them from furnishing home care, according to a release from the Department of Justice. Patel also knew Bush had been previously convicted of a health care-related felony that excluded Bush from being involved in any way with Alpine’s Medicaid and Medicare billings, the release says.
"This defendant enriched himself and his company by flouting rules designed to protect the public," Steven M. Dettelbach, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, says in the release.
Bush was convicted on related charges and is scheduled to be sentenced May 28.
