Don't Rush Revalidation
You soon may need to submit your enrollment information again to get revalidated under new risk screening criteria, but don't send the info in prematurely. "Do NOT submit your revalidation until you are notified to do so by your MAC," CMS stresses in a message to providers. "You will receive a notice to revalidate between now and March 2013." Although the Office of Management and Budget has approved a new 855 enrollment form, you don't have to use the updated form until October 2011, CMS says in a separate message. However, providers "are encouraged" to start using the new form, the agency says. The National Association for Home Care & Hospice has advised sticking with the old form until CMS issues instructions to go along with the new 855 (see Eli's HCW, Vol. XX, No. 28, p. 221).
