Industry Note:

Don't Include Patient Names On Hospice Adjustment List

If you want to take advantage of easier hospice billing corrections for Routine Home Care and Service Intensity Add-on errors since payment reform began, you need to pay attention to the requirements, HHH MAC CGS says.

“The list of claim information should include only the following: the document control numbers (DCNs) of the claims to be adjusted; the dates of service for each claim; and whether the error is related to RHC days or SIA amounts,” CGS instructs in an Oct. 10 post on its website.

Do not include PHI — not even the beneficiary’s name, CGS cautions. The list is due to CGS by Oct. 20.
