If you’re a Medicaid-funded home care agency, you’ll get a breather on the Department of Labor’s new rule for overtime compensation. In the final rule, the DOL gives Medicaid agencies until March 2019 to comply with the rule setting a new salary threshold, among other changes, notes law firm Hall Render in analysis of the rule.
But Medicare HHAs will still have to comply with the new requirement to raise the threshold from $455 per week ($23,660 per year) to $913 per week ($47,476 per year) by Dec. 1, according to the final rule issued May 18 (see Eli’s HCW, Vol. XXV, No. 20).
