Doc, Owners, RN Indicted In Detroit Fraud Scheme

Home care-related indictments continue to come down in the Detroit area. This time, the feds have charged a physician, two clinic owners, and an RN in an alleged $1.6 million scheme run out of Angle's Touch Home Health Care in Taylor, Mich.Physician Sonjai Poonpanij, clinic owners Attaullah Arain and Nadia Arain, and RN Judith Ragasa are accused of involvement in the scheme where the agency billed for home care services that were medically unnecessary or never provided, according to a release from the Department of Justice. In addition to arresting the four, law enforcement agents executed search warrants at two locations and seizure warrants for 16 bank accounts related to the alleged fraud schemes.
