HHAs in the nine Value-Based Purchasing states are getting a small break on new measures they must report.
Reminder: VBP state agencies must start collecting data for a new measure, Influenza Vaccination Coverage for Home Health Care Personnel, in July and begin reporting the data in October. It’s one of the 24 measures used for VBP calculations (see Eli’s HCW, Vol. XXIV, No. 39).
Agencies are confused on how to count contract staff — particularly therapists — for this measure, said a software vendor who called in to CMS’s March 9 Home Health Open Door Forum. They don’t fit into any of the categories CMS requires.
Response: HHAs can just ignore contract staff for this measure, a CMS official said in the call.
Education calls for VBP agencies continue, CMS noted in the call.
