Discipline Matching Not Necessary For F2F

Obtaining face-to-face documentation from referring physicians is hard enough -- don't send the F2F documentation back to him unless you really need to.The question: When the doc orders three different skilled services for a patient but specifies only one on the F2F documentation, does she need to redo it, one agency recently asked HHH Medicare Administrative Contractor NHIC.The answer: Having F2F documentation with only one discipline listed "would be acceptable," NHIC says on its website. "The face-to-face is to support that the patient is homebound and requires skilled services. It is not necessary that the face-to-face document all the skilled services."
