Quantum Home Care Inc. co-owner Javed Rehman has pled guilty in a $13.8 million Medicare fraud scheme, according to the Depart-ment of Justice. Rehman paid kickbacks to re-cruiters to obtain Medicare beneficiary information used to bill Medicare for home health services — including physical therapy and skilled nursing — that were never rendered.
Two other co-owners, Tausif Rahman and Muhammad Ahmad, already have pled guilty in the case that involves three other home health agencies they owned, the DOJ says. Rehman is scheduled for sentencing in November and could face up to 10 years in prison.
