Correction For Claims Rejection Errors On The Way

You'll have to sit tight to wait for a fix for your claims rejecting with C7121, HHH Medicare Administrative Contractor NHIC tells providers. But then don't forget to take action on incorrectly rejected claims. The problem: "Certain home health claims have been incorrectly receiving Reason Code C7121," NHIC explains in an e-mail to providers. "This reason code is impacting home health claims where the Home Health Provider Transaction Access Number (PTAN) and the Hospital's PTAN are the same except for the third digit. For example the Home Health PTAN is XX-7054 and the Hospital's PTAN is XX-S054." The solution: A Common Working File (CWF) fix should go in April 2, NHIC says. "Once the fix is installed, the claims that were rejected will be able to be resubmitted. Claims should be submitted as normal."
