Industry Note:

CMS Wants Your Thoughts On Stark Changes

Do you have thoughts about the newly proposed changes to the Stark law (see Eli’s HCW, Vol. XXVIII, No. 36)? If so, CMS is listening.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will hold three listening sessions regarding the proposed revisions to the physician self-referral regulations, to solicit “insights and feedback,” the agency says. Sign up for the Nov. 20 session at www.eventbrite.com/e/modernizing-and-clarifying-the-physician-self-referral-regulations-rule-tickets-81542474737.

While CMS officials will have their ears open, they won’t talk. “As this is a proposed rule, CMS is prohibited from reacting to audience comment,” the registration website notes.
