CMS Sets Training Date For New Hospice Item Set
Mark your calendar for Hospice Item Set (HIS) training in February. CMS will offer video streamed training on data collection with the new tool the afternoons of Feb. 4 and Feb. 5, it says on its website. The sessions also will be recorded for later viewing.
"This training will be geared toward teaching hospice providers how to complete the HIS-Admission and HIS-Discharge," CMS says. "The training will cover each item in the HIS, including instruction on how to complete each item, examples for each item, and a question and answer session."
CMS will offer technical training on the tool in May, ahead of its July implementation, the agency says at www.cms.gov/Medicare/Quality-Initiatives-Patient-Assessment-Instruments/Hospice-Quality-Reporting/Spotlight.html.
