Closing Hospital Hands Off Home Health Unit

The home health unit of a hospital closing in Independence, Kan., is transferring its home health and hospice licenses to Home Town Health Care headquartered in Fredonia, reports KOAM-TV News. Mercy Home Health and Hospice ceased operations Oct. 9 and its hospital parent plans to close by the end of year, amid the state’s political conflict over Medicaid expansion.
