Claims System Fix Solves Remittance Advice Problem

A Sept. 4 fix to the Medicare claims system has cleared up one problem encountered by HHAs -- somewhat.

Starting in July, the FISS system was processing claims, but the claims were not showing up on the remittance advice because the system wasn't finalizing them, HHH MAC Palmetto GBA re-counts on its website. After the Sept. 4 fix, Palmetto has released the claims with a single, Informational Only, no pay remittance for each provider containing the detail claim information. However, the remittance "may be out of balance," Palmetto notes.
