Hospice-finding tech still glitching. Hospices waiting for the first refresh of their quality data posted on Medicare's Hospice Compare site must wait no longer. "The December 2017 quarterly Hospice Compare refresh is available based on discharges from the first through fourth quarters of 2016," the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services said in a message to providers. The site updated Dec. 12. The refresh had been delayed from mid-November, as CMS announced in its November Open Door Forum for home health and hospice providers (see Eli's HCW, Vol. XXVI, No. 42). Meanwhile, the website glitch that may keep users from finding you continues. But at least CMS has posted a warning at the top of the website. "When searching by 'location,' the list of agencies provided may or may not serve the Zip code, City, or State you entered," the message reads. "We suggest you call any hospice that you select to confirm that they serve your area."
