Tune in to electronic signature webinar for all provider types May 1. Get ready to make some changes to your hospice cost report, thanks to revisions to the cost report filing requirements. Among the changes the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services issued April 13 are the addition of "a check box for electronic signature, modified forms, instructions and specifications" and for Worksheet A through A-4, an "added line 42.50 'drugs charged to patients,'" according to Transmittal 3 released April 13. "Many questions remain regarding the actual use of the electronic signature," says the National Association for Home Care & Hospice in its member newsletter. "However, CMS will be providing a webinar on May 1, 2018 regarding the electronic signature and the related process. Registration is available at https://blh.ier.intercall.com." The cost report changes are effective for cost reporting periods ended on Dec. 31, 2017 and after, notes consulting firm The Health Group in Morgantown, West Virginia, in its electronic newsletter. "However, the old forms may be used until such time as the new forms are available for use electronically," The Health Group says.
