Industry Note:

Chain Pays Nearly $10M For 16 Nursefinders Locations

Moorestown, N.J.-based chain BAYADA Home Health Care has acquired 16 Nurse-finders Home Care offices from AMN Healthcare Company. The offices are in Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, New Jersey, New Mexico, Okla-homa, Pennsylvania, and Texas.

"We are excited to expand our geographic reach," Bayada founder and CEO Mark Baiada says in a release. Bayada paid $9.65 million for the offices that have $50 million in annual revenue, reports the Philadelphia Inquirer. The deal should boost Bayada's annual revenue to $750 million, according to the newspaper.

The acquisition will not affect the other 19 Nursefinders franchises that Bayada did not purchase, the release notes. Bayada has 240 offices in 24 states and India, it says.

AMN said it was shedding the agencies due to "reimbursement changes and the current uncertainty in the regulatory environment," according to a release.
