With the Review Choice Demonstration’s launch in Illinois less than a month away — and perhaps its debut in the other demo states soon after, home health agencies should take a look at two new tools from the RCD contractor.

Palmetto GBA has issued a “Submitting a Pre-Claim Review Request” how-to and a “Pre-Claim Review Initial Checklist” job aid on its website.

Tip: The submitter information may not be as cut and dried as you think. “It is very important to have a contact name and a telephone number in the event there is a processing issue, something that does not go as planned. We need to know who to contact to resolve something,” Palmetto says in the submission guide. “So please put a specific person’s phone number. The operator is not very helpful if [we] don’t know who to ask for if that’s the only number you give us. So a specific name and a specific phone number that goes to a specific person is what we need.”
