Home care providers will see a CMS executive with home-based business experience, for once. Adam Boehler has been appointed Deputy Administrator and Director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, the Department of Health & Human Services noted in an April 6 release. CMMI spearheads Medicare's payment reform initiatives. Among other experience, Boehler is the former CEO and founder of Landmark Health. Landmark focuses on home care services for clinically complex, medically vulnerable patients, the company says on its website. Boehler was expected to take on the CMMI role for some months, but had to remove conflict of interest problems over ownership of Landmark first, according to press reports.
