Don’t forget some of the billing help you’re getting during the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Example #1: “All RAPs processed during the [public health emergency] will have an additional 90 days from the date of the processed RAP to submit the claim for the billing period,” HHH Medicare Administrative Contractor National Government Services reminds in a recent post to its website.“Under home health billing guidelines, the HHA has 60 days from the RAP process date to submit the claim for the same billing period before the RAP will auto-cancel. The grace period during the PHE adds another 90 days to this timeframe to allow home health agencies more time to submit the period claim.”

Example #2: The CARES Act “temporarily suspends the 2 percent payment adjustment currently applied to all Medicare Fee-For-Service (FFS) claims due to sequestration,” HHH MAC Palmetto GBA says on its website.“The suspension is effective for claims with dates of service from May 1 through December 31, 2020.”
