Industry Note:

Beware This Cash Flow Hiccup Under CGS

Don't think a bump in your cash flow from last week will continue into this week. The Kentucky and Ohio Part A workload is transitioning to HHH MAC CGS on Oct. 17 as part of the Jurisdiction 15 A/B MAC implementation, CGS notes on its website. In its last regular payment cycle before the transition, CGS gave affected home health and hospice providers a "four-day pay forward" early payment to cover the Oct. 14-19 time period that the payment system will be down during the transition. "CGS will resume normal payment cycles on October 20, 2011 and will issue payments from that cycle," the MAC explains. "Providers should plan accordingly for this change in cash flow."
