Beware Employees With Sticky Fingers

Reimbursement and compliance problems aren't the only threats to your cash. Keep a close eye on your own workers, or you may find yourself in a situation like that of one Minnesota home health agency.

Bookkeeper Lori Jo Mueller is suspected of stealing close to $1 million from Edelweiss Home Health Care Inc. of Maple Grove, reports TV station Fox 9. According to a search warrant application filed in Hennepin County District Court, police believe Mueller used the money to pay off credit cards and an Amazon account. Mueller, also known as Lori Jo Peterson, was convicted of stealing more than $60,000 from another company in 1997, Fox 9 says.
