Look in your mail or your QIES CASPER folder to see whether CMS is going to cut your payment rates for Hospice Quality Reporting Program failings. Medicare Administrative Contractors mailed and placed into QIES CASPER folders “non-compliance notifications” for HQRP July 9, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services says in a message to providers. The notices, which communicate hospices’ compliance with 2017 requirements, will affect 2019 payments that start Oct. 1. “If you receive a letter of non-compliance, you may submit a request for reconsideration to CMS via email no later than 11:59 pm PT on August 7,” CMS says. Reconsideration request information is at www.cms.gov/Medicare/Quality-Initiatives-Patient-Assessment-Instruments/Hospice-Quality-Reporting/Reconsideration-Requests.html.
