Amedisys has agreed to purchase RoseRock Healthcare, a hospice in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based chain says in a release. RoseRock serves about 200 patients daily in northeastern Oklahoma. Amedisys currently operates six home health care centers in Oklahoma, including an agency in Tulsa. After the purchase, expected to close April 1, Amedisys will operate 138 hospice centers in 34 states, it says. The chain recently closed on its $340 million acquisition of Compassionate Care Hospice, a 53-location hospice chain that added 11 states to Amedisys’ hospice network (see Eli’s HCW, Vol. XXVII, No. 37). Compassionate Care Hospice generates about $188 million in annual revenues, Amedisys said in a separate release. Amedisys is now the nation’s third-largest hospice providers, the company says.
