ABN Delivery May Be Simpler Than You Think

A question-and-answer on ABN delivery might make your scheduling a bit easier. "Can a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) or a Licensed Prac-tical Nurse (LPN) give the Home Health Advance Beneficiary Notice (HHABN) to a patient or does it have to be a Registered Nurse (RN) or a Physical Therapist (PT)?" one provider asked HHH MAC NHIC in its Aug. 15 Ask-the-Contractor Telecon-ference (ACT)."There is no requirement as to who must deliver the HHABN to the patient," NHIC replied.
