Which states are the best for home care users? The AARP has weighed in on the topic. Long-term care users in Washington state fare the best while those in Kentucky face the worst, according to the AARP’s Long-Term Services & Supports Scorecard. The tool “looks across all categories to measure state-level LTSS system performance from the viewpoint of users of services and their families,” according to the advocacy group. Some of the indicators used to score states include choice of care setting and availability of home health and personal care aides. See the scorecard at www.longtermscorecard.org.
