7-State Chain Makes Tarheel State Acquisition

Augusta, Ga.-based CareSouth Health System Inc. has purchased the home health agency of the Rutherford Polk McDowell (RPM) Health District in North Carolina, CareSouth says in a release. The HHA is now operating as CareSouth Homecare Professionals in Marion, Spindale, and Columbus, N.C. The acquisition is CareSouth's latest in the region. In 2011, "the company sold its California assets to focus on expansion in the Southeast, Southwest, Gulf Coast and Mid-Atlantic areas," it notes. CareSouth now operates in Georgia, Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Texas.
