Industry Note:

2 New Quality Measures Out

You have a little over a month to comment on two new quality measures regarding medication profile transfers.

"The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has contracted with RTI International and Abt Associates to develop cross-setting postacute care transfer of health information and care preferences quality measures in alignment with" the IMPACT Act, CMS notes. The measures are "Medication Profile Transferred to Provider" and "Medication Profile Transferred to Patient."

CMS and its contractors are "particularly interested" in feedback on "whether the measure titles clearly capture the measure concept across the PAC settings" and "Potential impact and any unintended consequences of the measures (either positive or negative)," among other topics, they say on CMS's quality measures webpage.

See measure specs, more information, and commenting instructions online at www.cms.gov/Medicare/Quality-Initiatives-Patient-Assessment-Instruments/MMS/PC-Currently-Accepting-Comments.html.
