Two home health agency owners in Massachusetts will see jail time after pleading guilty to tax fraud. A federal judge sentenced Hannah Holland and Sheila O’Connell, co-owners of Erin’s Own Home Healthcare Inc. in Quincy, each to six months in prison and three years’ supervised release, according to a Department of Justice release. Between 2010 and 2014, Holland and O’Connell cashed more than $3.5 million of Erin’s Own business checks through nominee bank accounts controlled by a third-party, and Holland also personally cashed more than $77,000 of Erin’s Own business receipts, the DOJ says. None of these funds were reported to the IRS or accounted for in the company’s tax filings.
