Comparison stats still a ways off.
About 1,800 home health agencies in the nine Value-Based Purchasing states should now have information that will help them start gauging their success under the demonstration program.
On July 27, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services issued the first interim performance reports under VBP, a CMS official said in the Aug. 23 Open Door Forum for home care. They are available via VBP’s Secure Portal website. Not all agencies received the reports, because they required a certain amount of data submitted, she noted.
VBP agencies have until Aug. 26 to request a recalculation based on the reports, the CMS official said. So far, the agency has received “a minimal number” of such requests, she related.
HHAs still haven’t seen comparison data for their cohorts, however, the staffer said. That will be available in the January report, but CMS is working to get the information up on the VBP website before then, she said.
