A federal jury convicted Houston physician Ronald Kahn in a $1.5 million Medicare fraud scheme last month, according to the Department of Justice. According to evidence presented at trial, from about 2006 until 2013, Kahn falsified medical records and signed false documents purporting to show that patients admitted to Allied Covenant Home Health Inc. satisfied Medicare’s requirements for admission. Kahn also paid kickbacks to another physician practice for patients for whom he billed medically unnecessary or unprovided facet injections, prosecutors said.
