Your patients will pay more for their nonhome care services in 2017. CMS announced a Part B premium increase to about $109.00, compared to $104.90 for the past four years, for about 70 percent of Medicare beneficiaries. That’s due to a low 0.3 percent cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for Social Security benefits that means a “hold harmless provision” kicks in for those seniors. For the remaining 30 percent, the standard monthly premium will be $134.00, a 10 percent increase from the 2016 premium of $121.80, CMS says in a release.
The Medicare Part A inpatient hospital deductible will increase by $28 to $1,316 for 2017, CMS adds.
