Gentiva-Odyssey Deal Proceeds Despite Therapy Probe

Gentiva Health Services Inc.'s acquisition of hospice chain Odyssey Healthcare Inc. appears to be moving forward, despite doubts cast by the Senate and SEC investigations of Gentiva and three other publicly traded HHA chains for therapy utilization improprieties. Odyssey stockholders have approved the merger, the Dallas-based for-profit chain says. The deal is expected to close around Aug. 16, according to the Associated Press.
